2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 And Continental GT 650 Launched In India At Rs. 2.75 Lakh

Two-wheeler manufacturer Royal Enfield has updated its flagship motorcycles- Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 for the Model Year 2021.

Both motorcycles will come with new paint schemes. The 2021 Interceptor 650 is proced at Rs. 2.75 lakh and Rs.2.83 lakh for customized paint schemes. The top-spec Chrome paint scheme variant of the Interceptor 650 will cost Rs. 2.97 lakh.

The cafe-racer motorcycle i.e the 2021 Continental GT 650 will cost Rs. 2.91 lakh while a custom paint scheme varinat will cost Rs. 2.99 lakh. However, the top-spec Mister Clean colour scheme is tagged at Rs. 3.13 lakh.

Both of these models are a part of the “Make-it-Yours” customization programme of the brand. The company allows customers to customize their motorcycles right from the factory like modifying various seating shapes, touring mirrors, flyscreens and sump guards.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT650 come with a similar 649cc air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin-cylinder engine. This engine produces 47bhp of maximum power at 7,250rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 5,250rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes with a slipper and assit clutch.

41mm forks at the front and twin-gas charged shocks at the rear with 5-step adjust for pre-load damping handles the suspension duties of the motorcycles. The motorcycle’s 18-inch spoked wheels have 320mm disc brakes at the front and 240mm disc brakes at the rear and is supported by a standard dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield has retained the design of the Interceptor 650 and GT 650. Both the bikes have similar round-shaped headlamps, taillamps, twin-exhaust setup and a single-piece flat seat. The Interceptor 650 provides a more relaxed and upright riding position unlike the aggressive riding position of the Continental GT 650 which has a long tank design and clip-on handlebars.

Although the company has updated the models with additional colour schemes to the 2021MY of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, it has not added the expected Tripper Navigation feature.
