For the year 2021, Yamaha Motors has launched 150 cc motorcycle FZ FI and FZS-FI in India. These updated models have arrived with many special features such as Bluetooth connectivity and new colour variants. The Bluetooth option had been fit into the FZS-FI model along with the Vintage edition last December by Yamaha motors and now the connectivity feature is an add-on to the existing one.
The updated FZ FI models are priced from Rs.1,03,700 and prices for the FZS-FI line-up starts from Rs.1,07,200.
FZ is the most celebrated brand of Yamaha motors in India and in order to ensure excitement among customers, Yamaha comes with updates annually for its models. In 2020, Yamaha introduced the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X application in the Vintage and Darknight models. This accessory was received well by the customers and hence the company has decided to include Bluetooth connectivity as a mandatory feature for the FZS-FI model in the FZS-FI models.
Under the banner of “The Call of The Blue”, Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India said that they would introduce several new products based on the needs and requirements of the customers. In this regard, additional features such as side stand engine cutoff switch and inbuilt Bluetooth connectivity have been added.
The Yamaha FZ FI will be available in two colour variants- Racing Blue and Metallic Black. The exhaust of this model has been tuned compared to the previous one for better sound. Also, the side stand engine cutoff switch is a notable feature. The kerbweight on the motorcycle has been brought down to 135 kg from the existing 137 kg.
The Yamaha FZS-FI will be available in four colour variants including a new matte red paint scheme. The older four options include Dark Matte Blue, Matte Black, Dark Knight, and Vintage Edition. The Connect X feature in the FZS models can be accessed through a smartphone which offers several features like Answer back, E-lock, Locate my bike, Hazard lights and much more.
While there are few features that have been retained in all the FZ series including LED headlamp, single-channel ABS, 140 mm wide radial rear tyre, and step-up style single-seat. Both FZS-FI and FZ FI models are equipped with a 149 cc, fuel-injected engine that develops 12.2 bhp and 13.6 Nm of peak torque paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
The 2021 Yamaha FZ series will compete with the likes of the Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda X-Blade, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V in the domestic market.
