BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is now available with a petrol variant and comes with the impressive M Sport package.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé has been introduced in India with a new petrol version. The new BMW 220i, launched in an attractive ‘M Sport’ kit, is manufactured locally at the Chennai plant of the BMW Company. In addition to the two existing diesel models, it is available from today onwards at all BMW dealerships in the country. The car is priced at Rs. 40.90 lakhs(ex-showroom).
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé passes the sleek aesthetics of its bigger siblings seamlessly. The exterior embodies a modern and athletic style, creating a fascinating interplay of light and shadow with precise lines and sculpted surfaces. The outstanding feature is its stretched profile, four frameless doors and prominent shoulders at the C-pillar with side taper that gives it a sporty, low and wide-set stance. The popular BMW four-eyed face is created by slightly angled full-LED headlights and draws attention to the BMW kidney grille that gives the classic BMW icons a new interpretation. With a single slim light feature and a distinctive sweep to the right, the full-LED tail lights extend into the center of the rear end and provide an all-new take on the familiar BMW ‘L’ shape.
The interior is built to accentuate cabin spaciousness amid its sporty appearance and the driver-focused cockpit with exquisite materials. Better long-distance comfort is provided by the newly built Sport Seats with an electric memory feature. The elegant coupé shape with generous cabin space welcomes fast entry and adequate knee room for the rear passengers. The regular large panoramic glass sunroof is an improvement to the sense of space. By folding down the 40/20/40 split rear seat backrest, the wide luggage compartment of 430 liters can be extended. To create more space, the rear seat can be folded down fully. The illuminated trim, a segment-first, maintains a regular daylight appearance but functions in the dark as decorative lighting elements with a space-shaping effect. Apart from this there are six ambient design lightings on offer.
The BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine blends full power with outstanding efficiency and provides spontaneous response at low engine speeds. At 1350-4600 rpm, the two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine generates an output of 190 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm. The car accelerates in just 7.1 seconds from 0-100 km / hr.
