Citroen C5 Aircross SUV has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 29.90 lakh. It will be the first-ever product of the French automaker in India that will be placed in the premium mid-size SUV segment. Since last month, customers pre-booked the model for a token amount of Rs.50,000 until its launch. The company will begin its delivery process across India very soon.
The mid-size SUV has been launched in 10 new showrooms in Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Kochi, and Gurugram. The company will use a unique way to extend its reach beyond the dealerships in India. The visitors will witness a unique Physical + Digital (Phygital) experience following the ‘La Maison Citroen’ concept of the brand. The company has also decided to showcase its first model using ‘showrooms on wheels’ in various cities.
The SUV is available in seven colour options, namely Cumulus Gray With Black Roof, Pearl White, Tijuca Blue, Cumulus Gray, Perla Nera Black, Pearl White With Black Roof, and Tijuca Blue With Black Roof.
The Citroen C5 Aircross comes in Feel and Shine variants. The top-spec Shine variant of Citroen C5 costs Rs. 31.90 lakh. The company will allow C5 Aircross’ leasing or subscription service at a cost of Rs. 49,999. This will allow the customers to either upgrade the model, purchase a new model or return the model at the end of the tenure.
The SUV comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The engine is paired with an 8-speed torque-convertor automatic and produces 175bhp maximum power and 400Nm of peak torque.
The Citroen C5 Aircross is 4500mm long, 2099mm wide and 1710mm high. It has a massive 580-litres of boot space with all seats up along with a wheelbase of 2730mm.
The C5 Aircross comes with a split-headlamp set up with a thin body strip that separates units at either end. The DRLs flank the upper part of the grille on either side and also works as turn-indicators at the front.
The SUV comes with an18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and cladding on its entire body. It is also equipped with split-wraparound taillamps, an integrated roof spoiler, a large Citroen badge placed on the middle of the boot lid, and a blacked-out bumper with non-functional twin exhaust vents at the back.
An eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch fully-digital instrument console, dual-zone climate control and a flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls are present on the interior of the car.
However, Citroen C5 Aircross’ main highlight is the ‘Magic Carpet Ride’, which will ensure a quality ride to the customers using its progressive hydraulic-cushioned suspensions. Moreover, memory foam is used in the seats to further enhance the quality of the ride.
The Citron C5 Aircross will compete against the likes of the Jeep Compass, the Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan in India.
