Citroen has revealed details regarding the engine and specifications of the soon-to-be-launched C5 AirCross. Arriving in India as a CKD model, the C5 AirCross will be assembled locally. The French automaker has commenced production of the SUV at its Thiruvallur plant in Tamilnadu.
The Citroen C5 AirCross will come be offered in two variants namely – Feel and Shine. Both the variants will be powered by a 2-litre diesel engine. This engine generates 174 bhp of max power and 400 Nm of torque coupled with an 8-speed torque converter unit, it has a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl.
On tape the Citroen C5 AirCross measures 2099 mm wide, 1710 mm tall, and 4500 mm long. It has a wheelbase of 2730mm. The SUV has a 580 litre boot capacity. This can be enhanced up to 72 liters just by having the rear seat slide forward. A total luggage space of 1630 liters is disengaged for use, once rear seats are folded up in their entirety. The top of the line Shine trim gets electric tailgate function (hands-free). The SUV also gets the company’s patented progressive hydraulic cushions suspension setup.
The SUV will come in 7 color options. In addition to 4 single tone shades, namely Perla Near Black, Cumulus Grey, Pearl White, and Tijuca Blue, customers will also have the option to choose the first three colours with a dual-tone roof option (black). The C5 AirCross SUV will come with LED tail-lamps, ORVM mounted LED turn indicators, LED vision projection lamps, and LED daytime running lights. The SUV sits on 18 inch, 2-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin the C5 AirCross gets soft-touch materials and a well laid out design. The dashboard features Apple Carplay and Android Auto enabled 8-inch touch-screen display and a 6-speaker audio system. The steering wheel gets audio mounted controls. Grey Grained Leather, Metropolitan Grey, And Graphite cloth upholstery can be chosen from, along with advanced comfort seats.
Additional features include Dual-zone climate control, park assistance function, electrically adjustable driver seat, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, push-button start and much more. On the safety front the SUV comes with six airbags, electronic stability program, hill start assist, hill descent control, traction control, Blind Spot Information System, Electric Parking Brake, Front & Rear Parking Sensors, ISOFIX mounts, and reverse camera.
