Ducati has finally launched the latest 2021 V4 and V4S in India, with prices starting at Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the flagship Italian naked bike. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line V4 S would set you back Rs. 23 lakh. For the additional 3 lakhs, the V4 S gets Ohlins electronically adjustable springs, an Ohlins steering damper, and lighter Marchesini forged aluminum wheels.
Ducati’s designers incorporated a range of Formula One-inspired air extractors into the semi-fairing, as well as a pair of bi-plane winglets on either side to help keep the bike lightweight. The winglets generate a downforce that helps hold the front wheel down while also grounding the bike. The Streetfighter also has a significantly longer wheelbase than its fully-faired equivalent, stretching by 15mm, and a 2mm forward steering stem.
The Streetfighter V4 shares its motor with the formidable Ducati Panigale V4. The V4 produces 208bhp at 13,000rpm and 123Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. Packed into a 199kg V4 S or a 201kg regular V4, it makes no difference.
The suspension preload and ABS are regulated by the Ducati Streetfighter V4’s three riding modes (Race, Sport, Road), which can be changed using the 5-inch TFT colour display. The Ducat Multimedia System option on the 2021 Streetfighter V4 allows the rider to handle calls and text messages, play music, and change audio and voice controls.
The Streetfighter V4 S gets the top-of-the-line fully adjustable Ohlins springs, as well as light-weight forged aluminum Marchesini wheels, in addition to the technology found on the regular V4. A Showa big piston fork and a Sachs RSU are both completely customizable for preload and rebound on the V4. Both have Brembo Stylema Monoblocs calipers with 330mm twin discs upfront and a 245mm single disc in the back.
Bookings for the two new Streetfighter V4s have already begun at Ducati dealerships across India, with deliveries set to begin once showrooms are open. Understandably, both the V4 and V4 S models of the flagship Streetfighter are likely to be available in limited quantities, at least in the beginning.
