Ford has launched the EcoSport SE variant in the Indian market at Rs. 10.49 Lakh for the petrol variant and Rs. 10.99 Lakh for the diesel variant respectively. The company has started accepting bookings for the compact SUV and the cars have started arriving at the dealerships.
The new variant of the Ford EcoSport shows resemblance to the design cues of its American & European peers, where the compact SUV is sold without a rear-mounted spare wheel.
“Customers increasingly follow global benchmarks in design and look for things that are unique and distinctive, just like the new EcoSport SE,” said Vinay Raina, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India. “The SE carries forward EcoSport’s fun to drive credentials as well as its rich legacy of outstanding safety and best-in-segment technologies like SYNC 3.”
The SE variant retains EcoSport’s bold grille design, 16-inch alloys and high ground clearance to enhance its SUV credentials apart from the redesigned tailgate and a new silver applique dual-tone rear bumper. It also equipped with the SYNC 3 infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with the Ford PassTM integration.
The new EcoSport SE variant gets both the 1.5-litre 3-cylinder TiVCT petrol and the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engines. The petrol engine produces a maximum power of 120 bhp and a peak torque of 149 Nm. On the other hand, a maximum power of 98 bhp and 215 Nm of peak torque is produced by the oil burner. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The company is expecting to see growth in their SUV appeal after launching its new Ford EcoSport SE variant based on customer feedback. This new variant will compete against the likes of the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet and the Tata Nexon in India.
