Ford India has announced a price hike for its models like most auto manufacturing companies as the new financial year is knocking at the door. The company has decided to give a 3% hike across all their models (increment may vary for different models & variants) from the month of April.
The company will release the updated price list of its five models on 1st April 2021. The Figo, Aspire, Freestyle, Ecosport and the Endeavour are the models that are currently on sale in India.
1.2-litre petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel unit powers all the models of Figo and are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Although, neither of the three Figo variants comes equipped with an optional automatic transmission.
As per the company, Ford Endeavour offers a 20% increase in low-end torque and is way quieter and refined than the older versions of the model. The capacity of the new EcoBlue diesel engine is 2.0-litre and it comes with 168 brake horsepower and a peak torque of 420Nm.
The 2020 Ford Endeavour’s 10-speed torque converter automatic transmission minimizes the available power & acceleration gap between gears. It is the first in the country and as per the company, the new transmission ensures a smoother acceleration response.
The EcoSport SE SUV variant was recently launched at Rs. 10.49 lakh for the petrol version and Rs. 10.99 Lakh for the diesel variant. Ford offers 1.5-litre 3-cylinder TiVCT petrol and 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engines for the new EcoSport SE. The oil burner produces a maximum power of 98 bhp and 215 Nm peak torque, while the petrol mill produces a maximum power of 120 bhp and a peak torque of 149 Nm. Both these engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Experts believe that manufacturers have no choice but to increase product prices due to the rise in the cost of production. We can only wish that the price hike will not be huge and will not deteriorate the sales.
