Hyundai launched the 7-seater Alcazar SUV on June 8, 2021, with much fanfare. Pre-bookings for the SUV opened for Rs 25,000 on June 9 2021. The Korean carmaker announced that they are overwhelmed with the response from buyers for the newly launched Hyundai Alcazar, as bookings have crossed 11,000 units in less than a month since its launch.
Sales figures for the Hyundai Alcazar have crossed the 5600 mark. The SUV currently has a 1-2 months waiting period, based on variants and colour options. Interested customers can book the SUV online on the “Click to buy” site of Hyundai or through an authorised dealer.
The Hyundai Alcazar is available in three variants– Prestige, Platinum and Signature. The automaker confirmed that bookings are shared evenly between all three variants. Compared to its diesel counterparts, petrol versions are more popular. Automatic variants account for fifty per cent of the bookings.
A total of 3,103 Alcazar units were shipped to dealers in the first month of sales. The Hyundai SUV outperformed its competirots Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in June 2021 sales. In June, Tata Motors sold 1,730 Safari units and 2,041 Harrier units. On the other hand, 3,002 Hector & Hector Plus units were dispatched by MG Motors.
Prices for the Hyundai Alcazar start at Rs. 16.30 lakh and go all the way upto Rs. 20 lakh for the top end variant.
The petrol variant is powered by a 2.0-litre motor producing 159 PS of power and 192 Nm of torque. The diesel version on the other hand gets its power from familiar 1.5 litre oil burner which powers the Seltos and the Creta. This motor generates 113 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque.Transmission choices include 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor units.
