MG’s new SUV is finally here! MG Motor India officially launched the new MG Astor mid-size SUV in the Indian market. The new MG Astor is the fifth product from MG in India after the Hector, Hector Plus, ZS EV and the MG Gloster full-size SUV. The new MG Astor SUV looks great, is quite spacious and gets a host of segment-first features. The new MG Astor mid-size SUV has been launched in India today and it is now the most affordable MG car in the country. Here we have all the details about the all-new MG Astor SUV.

The price of the new MG Astor mid-size SUV starts at Rs 9.78 lakhs for the base Style variant and it goes up to Rs 16.78 lakhs for the top-spec Sharp variant. All the prices mentioned here belong to Ex-showroom Delhi. However, the level-2 ADAS is offered as an optional kit and its price has not been announced yet. The new MG Astor rivals the other mid-size SUVs in India, which include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and also some bigger mid-size SUVs like the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV 700, etc.

MG Astor Engine Specifications

The new MG Astor gets a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out around 110 PS of maximum power and 144 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and it gets an 8-speed CVT too. The MG Astor also gets a BS6 compliant 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. It develops 140 PS of maximum power and 220 Nm of peak torque. This powerful turbo petrol engine doesn’t get a manual gearbox and it comes paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission only. The MG Astor doesn’t get any diesel engine too. However, its powertrain options are great in the segment.

The new MG Astor gets a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also gets MG’s iSmart 2.0 connected car features along with a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, etc. Also, the biggest highlight of the new MG Astor is its optional Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) functions. It will get several active & passive safety features. The features of Level-2 ADAS include Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention and Speed Assist.

MG Astor comes with a standard 3-3-3 package which includes a warranty of three years and unlimited kilometres, three years of Roadside Assistance and three Labor-Free periodic services.
