Nissan Magnite secured 4-star in the ASEAN NCAP’s crash test and confirmed that its compact-SUV complies with its safety rating. Nissan India Twitter handle assured one of the customers via a tweet about the safety rating of the Indian-made Magnite and it will have similar crash protection.
The Nissan Magnite released reports to reveal that it has secured 39.02 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 16.32 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP). In the Safety Assist category, it took its total score to 70.60 by attaining 15.28 points.
Although the driver’s chest had not-so-strong protection during frontal impact, adequate protection is now given to the chest, head and knees of passengers. The Nissan Magnite secured 7.81 points for an 18-old month baby in terms of Child Occupant Protection. and an 8-point safety score for a 3-year child dummy.
It is equipped with safety features such as ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, dual airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. The Nissan Magnite is based on the CMF-A+ platform. It also has seatbelt pre-tensioners and ISOFIX child seat anchorages along with several others.
The Magnite compact-SUV is available with two petrol engine options with the lower-spec having a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated unit while the top-spec has a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. The standard 5-speed manual gearbox with the naturally-aspirated unit produces a maximum of 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, a maximum of 99 bhp and 160 Nm of peak torque is churned out by the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine of the top-spec. Customers can opt either for the CVT transmission or the 5-speed manual transmission.
Undoubtedly, one of the safest compact SUVs in the Indian market is the Nissan Magnite. The turbo-petrol engine, automatic transmission and a price that can be afforded make the Magnite a good choice as a whole.
